How to check privacy request status

Use the public status checker to review a privacy request without exposing sensitive details.

Updated 2026-05-02For Owner, Manager, Team member

The privacy request status checker uses the request reference and requester email together so Cendaro can show basic status without disclosing sensitive request details.

Open the status checker

Go to /privacy/request-status. The page is public and does not require a Cendaro login.

What you need

  • The request reference shown after the privacy request was submitted.
  • The requester email used on the original privacy request.

How matching works

Cendaro only shows status when the request reference and requester email match the same privacy request record. If either value is wrong, the page should not expose request information.

What the status page can show

  • Request reference.
  • Request type.
  • Current status.
  • Created date.
  • Completed date, if the request has been completed.

What it should not show

The public status checker should not show sensitive request details unless identity has been verified. This keeps the lookup useful without turning it into a data disclosure path.

If you cannot find the request

  1. 1Check that the reference was copied exactly.
  2. 2Use the same email address that was entered when submitting the request.
  3. 3If the request still cannot be found, submit a new privacy request or contact privacy@cendaro.ca with enough context to locate the request without sharing unnecessary sensitive details.
