How bilingual legal pages work

Understand Cendaro's English and French legal routes, language switching, and how legal language stays separate from customer data.

Updated 2026-05-02For Owner, Manager, Team member

Cendaro publishes Privacy Policy and Terms of Service pages in English and French so owners, teammates, prospects, and customers can review legal information in the right language.

Language selection

The public /privacy and /terms pages load legal content based on the selected public locale. English users see English legal content and French users see French legal content.

The /en routes always show English Canadian content. The /fr routes always show French Canadian content.

What the switcher should do

  • Switching to French on a legal page should show French legal content or move the visitor to the matching French route.
  • Switching to English should show English legal content or move the visitor to the matching English route.
  • The selected interface language should persist after refresh when the browser and storage allow it.

Separate language settings

Legal page language is separate from workspace language and customer-facing language. Interface language controls what the Cendaro team sees. Customer-facing language controls messages sent to customers.

Changing the interface or legal page language must not automatically translate customer-entered names, service details, lead notes, or message history.

What to check before launch

  1. 1Open /privacy and /terms in English.
  2. 2Open /fr/privacy and /fr/terms in French.
  3. 3Confirm the footer and login legal links point to Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  4. 4Confirm the language switcher does not leave a legal page half-translated.
  5. 5Confirm public legal pages use the public MarketingShell layout, not the logged-in AppShell.
