What to do when a message is blocked

Resolve consent guard blocks without weakening compliance evidence.

Updated 2026-05-02For Owner, Manager, Team member

A blocked message means the contact is unsubscribed or consent is missing for that channel and purpose.

What the block means

Cendaro blocks sends when a contact is unsubscribed or when the message purpose does not match available consent evidence. This is intentional and should not be bypassed silently.

Safe next steps

  1. 1Check the lead source and consent history.
  2. 2Confirm whether the customer opted out by SMS keyword or another method.
  3. 3Update consent only if the business has valid consent evidence.
  4. 4Use a service-only message purpose when the message is truly operational and allowed.

Do not do this

  • Do not mark a customer as express-consent active without proof.
  • Do not send marketing to unknown or transactional-only contacts.
  • Do not ask Cendaro to auto-send around an unsubscribe.
